This professional development course introduces high school and middle school educators to strategies for integrating climate-smart agriculture lessons and projects into STEM classrooms.

This course includes:

Science of Agroforestry
Technologies that are both modern and ancient designs for Agroforestry
Engineering that it takes to work with nature to solve problems, design solutions, and build new systems.
Mathematical skills involved in measuring, analyzing, and designing for agroforestry systems.

Meet the Savanna Institute

The Savanna Institute is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works with farmers and scientists to lay the groundwork for widespread agroforestry adoption in the Midwest US. Inspired by the native savanna ecosystems that once covered much of this region, the Savanna Institute conducts research, education, and outreach to support the growth of diverse, perennial agroecosystems.
